To Defend Children’s Laughter
Situated in Kwangbok Street in the capital city of Pyongyang, the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace is a comprehensive extra-curricular educational base for schoolchildren and a “pedigree farm” for training talents.
One November day in Juche 104 (2015), the respected comrade
Feasting his eyes on its panoramic view, he said to officials: We can be proud of the palace before the world; its exterior is covered with granite slabs, which adds grandeur to the building.
Looking back, he visited it a year before and gave the tasks of renovating it into the world’s best palace for children. Then he took measures to dispatch powerful designing and building forces and provide necessary building materials.
During the renovation project he gave important instructions on over 180 occasions.
That day, he offered his advice and suggestions for making it impeccable.
After walking round various places of the palace for hours, he said to the officials: You should request for the supply of everything that is needed for running the extracurricular circles of the palace; once we have decided to equip it with necessary facilities for the extracurricular education, we should do it on a high level; we should spare nothing for children and should defend their laughter; their laughter we firmly defend in the hard times as now will resound as the cheers of victory of socialism in the distant future.
