A New Variety of Winter Wheat Bred

The Field Crop Institute under the Academy of Agricultural Science of the DPRK has bred a new variety of winter wheat.

As a cross-bred variety, it is an intermediate species suitable for double cropping with high yield per hectare.

In order to breed this high-yielding variety, researchers set the main indices for breeding superior species and intensified studies of starting materials.

They succeeded in obtaining a superior strain with yield components and quality indices better than the existing ones and buckled down to studying scientific cultivation method and ecological adaptability.

They found out all technical indices such as rational amount and period of sowing and manuring method and conducted field tests for introduction for years, and finally established a cultivation technique suitable to the characteristics of different regions.

This year the developers were awarded a national certificate of introduction of sci-tech hits.
