Rodong Sinmun on Advantageous Election System of DPRK
Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- The main mission of the election system in the DPRK is to thoroughly defend and realize the independent demand and interests of the popular masses, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in an article.
The election system of the DPRK comprehensively reflects the will and demand of the popular masses and provides the people with the convenience to the maximum, and herein lies its intrinsic advantage, says the article, adding:
Election in the DPRK contributes to unifying the will and demand of the popular masses and consolidating the state power as firm as a rock. All the Korean people voluntarily and actively take part in the elections through which they exercise genuine political rights and enhance their pride and self-esteem of being masters of the state and society, thus strengthening the unity of ideology, will and moral obligation among comrades.
In the DPRK all citizens have the right to elect and to be elected.
Those who are boundlessly loyal to the Party, revolution, country and people are elected representatives of the people and deputies to the state power organs.
The election system of the DPRK is, indeed, the progressive one which makes the popular masses fully exercise their rights as masters of the state and society and the most advantageous one which correctly embodies the people's will and demand, placing the popular masses on the centre.
